As we mark Fraud Prevention Month, it’s worth bearing in mind that anyone can be a victim of fraud.
The sad reality is that when disaster strikes, the community or group of people affected is rarely able to cope with donations of goods and services, however well-meaning.
“We use technology really well in a measured and strategic way. We aim to reach the the 55,000 Canadians affected by a brain tumour with a variety of tools and technology such as our website and social media communities play a large part in this reach.”
“We are actually in the process of updating our archaic website, we’ve recently upgraded our database, and are actively participating in social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, etc), but we are not currently engaging in some of the newer, “hotter” technologies, such as cloud computing.”
August 9, 2011 will mark the tenth anniversary of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission’s (CRTC) decision to assign the three-digit dialing code 2-1-1 for public access to community information and referral services / Le 9 août 2011 marquera le dixième anniversaire de la décision du CRTC à l’effet d’affecter le 2-1-1, le code de composition à trois chiffres, à l’accès par le public à des services d’information et d’aiguillage.
